Victoria E. Carter, LICSW
graduated with her Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston College School of Social Work, and is independently licensed in the state of Massachusetts. As a psychotherapist, Victoria specializes in working with adults, families, and adolescents who may be experiencing, or have experienced, anxiety, identity issues, and relationship struggles.
Before starting her private practice, Victoria worked as a program director providing services to individuals who suffer from severe persistent mental health issues. She provided clinical guidance and therapeutic leadership to help her staff provide best treatment practices. Victoria worked in an intensive family therapeutic setting for 3 years, where she provided Family Centered Treatment based on the evidenced-based model devoted to preserving and strengthening family relationships.
During her undergraduate and graduate experience at Boston College, Victoria worked in Guatemala and Boston with families of undocumented immigrants as a research assistant for a human rights migration project. She also interned as a Substance Use and Community Development counselor at M.I.T. working with students, fraternities, and sororities using motivational interviewing and harm reduction.
Victoria is fluent in the 3 languages she grew up with: English, German, and Spanish and is offering sessions in both English and Spanish. She has a dog whom she loves going on hikes with in her spare time. Victoria wants everyone to be able to attain happiness, peace, and healing for themselves.
